NEW Interview With Diana Gabaldon From Parade

Here is a NEW Interview with Diana Gabaldon From Parade

From Parade:

Whether Outlander fans were aware of it or not, on Sunday night they were treated to a Season 5 episode of the hit Starz series written by bestselling author Diana Gabaldon herself. Gabaldon, who is currently working on Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone, the ninth book in the franchise, managed to take a break from the novel to write episode 511. It is the first time since Season 2 that she has had the time.

More after the jump!

“Writing a script is a lot of fun, but it’s nothing like writing a novel,” Gabaldon exclusively tells Parade.com. “The most important difference is that when I write a novel, I’m God. A script is a collective enterprise, in which dozens of other people are involved, and compromises must be made.”

Gabaldon had asked to write one of the episodes at the end of the season to give her more time to work on the book, but it also provided her with the opportunity to see how season five was being laid out, because, as she says, it is a collaborate enterprise. Plus, particularly in this season not only have there been a great many departures from The Fiery Cross, but a story from A Breath of Snow and Ashes, the sixth book, has been moved into Season 5.

“So, yes, I did write 511. It was a lot of fun and I think it came out really well.” She explains that about 80 percent of the final product is actually hers, “but I think it’s all pretty good.”
