Hi all,
It took me all day to come up with the strength to write this post. Many of you have seen it on Twitter but I thought I should post it here, so people who want to write messages for Cathy can do so in the comments.
One of our good friends Cathy, has been dealing with cancer for a while. She is a fighter and has been fighting hard and it was working. This morning I received a message from her father that she was in palliative care, as the cancer had reached her liver. This came as a big shock to all of us, we had been talking with Cathy a few ago and she was doing well.
Why am I posting this here? Cathy has always been a very big supporter of this site and our other site Thinking of Rob. We’ve known her for over nine years and she is one of the most caring and generous persons you could ever meet. Cathy is part of this site. She will always be part of this site. She has stood behind us the entire way. She, in part, is a reason why you have this site. Her support for us and love has always helped us carry on, despite the odds.
Running a site like this one is very demanding and there are many people in the shadows. These people are not often mentioned, but they are the ones who are always there, always caring, always supporting us. Cathy is one of those people. She deserves this post. In fact she deserves so much more than this post, but this is the only thing I can offer her right now.
So, dear Cathy, this one is for you my friend. All our thought and love go out to you and your family right now. We love you so very much.
If you want to leave a message for Cathy you can do so below. Many of you have sent messages on Twitter, her friend who is going to the hospital tomorrow will show them to her. She will also show her the ones you post below. We want to thank Sam, Caitriona, Diana and Graham for sending messages. They put a smile on her face today.

Cathy is in palliative care. She had been battling cancer for a while. She was doing good. In the last few weeks the cancer spread to her liver. She is now is palliative care. We are heartbroken. 💔💔💔

Hi Cathy. I am sat in my bed reading all of these beautiful heart felt messages, tears rolling down my face as I’m in ore of what people are sending to you. I wanted to write something with meaning as I’m typing this but I really don’t know what to say except, my heart goes out to you and your family at this sad time. When the rainbow decides to take us to heaven go with peace and love and the knowing that you have touched so many peoples lives in your time on earth. Timing is a strange thing. I just read this hours after I learned I don’t have cancer. My husband and I were suppose to be on a 19 day tour of the British Isles right now. The day before we were suppose to leave I ended up in the ER and told not to go on this trip of a lifetime we had been planning for years. I only share this because as difficult as it was to miss our trip and spend that time going to daily testing I know how very lucky I am to get the news i did. I have lost friends and others have survived this horrible disease. I am so very sorry that your friend Cathy is going through such a very difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are w/her. Whatever her outcome I hope she finds comfort and peace.

Sending the best wishes in the world to you Mrs. Cathy! Stay strong, and keep your faith! It’s women like you that give young, like myself, and old women alike the inspiration needed to get through the daily trials we go through. I struggle with the worst must stubborn case of crohns disease that my doctor has come across in her 40 year career as a GI doctor. Chronic, incurable diseases make it to where all you wave to do is turn over and just give up. But then I hear about you and read how strong you are and how you still maintain such a wonderful site and you inspire me to not only get out of bed but to do more than just lay down and give up. So in short thank you so much for being you!
