OUTLANDER: The Series

The OUTLANDER television series was developed by executive producer and Peabody Award winner Ronald D. Moore (2005, “Battlestar Galactica”). Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company, and Left Bank Pictures produce Outlander in association with Sony Pictures Television.

The series – which spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure in one epic tale – is adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s New York Times bestselling OUTLANDER book series, with eight books and over 25 million sold. OUTLANDER follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 and thrown by circumstances beyond her control into the arms of Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior.

With the first eight episodes having already garnered critical and popular acclaim, OUTLANDER returns to Starz for the second half of its first season on April 4, 2015 in the United States. A second season is in pre-production. The show airs in 87 territories around the world.
