Here’s a new interview with Diana Gabaldon from Zap2it
From Zap2It:
As the first round of voting for the 2015 Emmy Awards comes to a close Friday, June 26, one of the most interesting things to watch hasn’t been a show, but a fandom.
Here’s a new interview with Ron D.Moore and Sam Heughan from Zap2it
From Zap2It:
Diana Gabaldon published the novel “Outlander” in 1991, which means fans have had 14 years to prepare for the events that finally aired on TV during the Starz series’ Season 1 finale.
That didn’t make the watching of them any easier.
“It’s intense stuff,” showrunner Ron Moore tells Zap2it of the May 31 episode. In it, viewers watched hero Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) be emotionally and sexually tortured by villain Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies), and then struggle with the ramifications of those events after he’s saved by his wife/the show’s main character, Claire (Caitriona Balfe).

From Zap2It:
“Outlander’s” iconic look is going to get a major makeover as the series heads into Season 2. Production is already underway as the Starz drama is gearing up for its May 31 Season 1 finale, and showrunner Ron Moore is excited for what the new season will bring.
There are only two episodes left of “Outlander” Season 1, and Starz isn’t keeping it a secret that Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) journey ends in a dark place. With Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) returning and Claire going to save her husband from Fort William, things are guaranteed to get worse before they get better.
Zap2it: With all your intense scenes on Starz’s “Outlander,” does your character of Claire require some coming down from at the end of the day?
Caitriona Balfe: Only twice that has had to happen. You know, it’s interesting. Some days, those tough, emotional scenes are almost cathartic. You get out anything you need during them and you feel quite exhausted by the end of the day but sometimes you feel quite refreshed in a strange way. It’s like you purged something of yourself.
But one particular day, both Sam [Heughan, her co-star] and I sort of attested to this, when there’s the judgment scene, I guess is what we’re calling it. You know, a lot of people know that’s coming up, which is sort of the punishments where Jamie needs to sort of chastise Claire or whatever for her trying to run, and that was a difficult one because I feel like it’s not something that is easy to wrap your head around … . But I think we both walked away from that day feeling a little like, “Oooof,” just that was tough. It was a tough line to find.
When Zap2it spoke with Moore on the carpet before “Outlander’s” 2015 Paleyfest panel, he offered an update on the Season 2 concepts.
“We’ll be building interiors in Scotland. We’re going to scout in the south of England, we’re going to scout in Eastern Europe; we’re looking for places that can be the streets of Paris. Where do we find Paris 1745 to shoot? Because Paris today doesn’t really look like that anymore,” he says.Author Diana Gabaldon is excited about what she’s seen so far of Season 2 plans. “The Parisian stuff is very good, and in fact I’m deeply impressed by the outlines I’ve seen of those scripts,” she says. “I think they’ve done a wonderful job of pulling out the most important plot elements and arranging them in a convincing way.”
