Outlander Season 3 premiere date and video from Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe
From Vanity Fair
Fans of the Outlander novels already knew this was coming. But without revealing any major spoilers for you non-book-readers, suffice it to say that Jamie and Claire Fraser will notbe spending all of next season in the foggy fields of Scotland. They are, in fact, headed to South Africa. To learn why (or, in fact, howthese time-traveling, star-crossed lovers find each other again), you’ll have to tune in to Season 3 when it returns in September 2017.
Even without any huge revelations about how the Frasers have traveled through time and space to see each other, this video from stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan is a joy to behold, mostly for the sheer, giddy chemistry these friends exude on screen. Fans will, yes, have to endure a bit of separation at the beginning of Season 3 as Claire and Jamie go their own ways, thanks to the quirk of time travel that tore them apart at the end of Season 2. Calling in from the set in Scotland late last year, Heughan told Vanity Fair that being apart from Balfe was like “having a death in the family. Well, I don’t know. I mean, it’s just like a different show. It’s hard to separate yourself from the character. It’s always hard when we’re apart, actually, because she’s a great person, great to come to work with, and a very good actress. But I think it all adds to the reunion—if there’s a reunion, or when there’s a reunion—well, you know there’s one in the books. It should be very special.” Balfe jokingly responded, “Och! He’s already killed me in his mind. Gone. Too sad.”

CASTING NEWS: Gary Young and Charlie Hiett to play Mr. Willoughby and Captain Thomas Leonard
Starz announced today that Gary Young will play the beloved character of Mr. Willoughby in the new season of Outlander. As first depicted in Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling book series, Mr. Willoughby is a Chinese man with a deep knowledge of Eastern medicine and a talented poet, to boot. He becomes a confidante of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
The premium network announced one more addition to Outlander’s cast today: Charlie Hiett will pay British Captain Thomas Leonard, the inexperienced captain of the Artemis that takes Sam and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) on their Caribbean voyage.
Young, who is from New Zealand, most recently appeared in the Netflix feature Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny and the Australian miniseries Secret City. Hiett’s credits include playing William Kent in The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher on ITV.

Here’s a new interview of Caitriona Balfe with EW
While walking the red carpet of the Golden Globes on Sunday, Balfe (blissfully) took a question from EW about the much-anticipated print shop scene that has been shot in Scotland. While loathe to give too much away, Balfe shared how she felt when shooting the moment when Claire and Jamie (Sam Heughan) reunite after 20 years of separation.
“I think it was written very beautifully,” Balfe teased to EW. “Matt B Roberts wrote it. It has every emotion in it. The excitement, the tentativeness, the nerves, everything. I think it’s really beautiful.”
The beloved scene of fans is from Voyager, the third book in Diana Gabaldon’s book series from which season 3 is based. After rebuilding her life with newborn Breanne in the 20th century, Claire returns through the stones to find Jamie — whom she previously believed had died at the Battle of Culloden — and reunites with him in the print shop where he works.

Here’s a new Sam Heughan interview with Popsugar
When Outlander premiered in 2014 on Starz, the historical drama immediately captured the hearts of both fans of Diana Gabaldon’s original book series as well as plenty of newcomers who couldn’t help but fall in love with the fantasy romance. Part of the rabid obsession with the series is owed to its two fantastic leads, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, whose onscreen romance as Claire and Jamie is one of TV’s most electric. Since we’re currently in the midst of one hell of a Droughtlanderuntil season three returns, we decided to go right to the source and hopped on the phone with Heughan to pump him for details. Although he didn’t give up all the goods (he’s a true Scottish gentleman, after all), he teased everything from the big surprises fans should expect to see in the new episodes to what it’s like to age two decades between seasons.

Outlander casts key characters Geneva and Isobel Dunsany
Outlander has found its Dunsany sisters. E! News has learned Hannah James has been cast as Geneva Dunsany and Tanya Reynolds will play Isobel Dunsany in the third season of the hit Starz drama.
Book fans will recall Geneva, the eldest, is “as beautiful as she is headstrong,” and spoiled and demanding. She’s used to getting exactly what she wants, but underneath that petulant exterior she’s vulnerable due to her sheltered life. James recently appeared as Emma Green in Mercy Street.
