The season five finale of Starz Outlander ended on a high note, kind of. Tonight’s episode, which was titled Never My Love, was written by showrunner Matthew B. Roberts and Toni Graphia and directed by Jamie Payne.
The finale opens with Claire (Caitriona Balfe), who has been taken captive by Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) and his men after Lionel discovered that Claire was using the guise of Dr. Rawlings to publish articles with innovative medical tips for the people of the Ridge and accuses Claire of “spreading dangerous ideas.” Claire tries desperately to escape but is tied up and beaten by Lionel’s men.

NEW Untitled Apple TV Series coming from Ron D. Moore and Maril Davis

EXCLUSIVE: Ronald D. Moore is heading back to space. Apple has given a straight-to-series order to a space drama from the Battlestar Galactica developer. The untitled project hails from Sony Pictures Television and Moore’s studio-based Tall Ship Productions.

The Highlanders are in France for Season 2 of Outlander, the time-traveling historical romance from Starz which stars the trio of Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan and Tobias Menzies. The show’s second season was teased as a whole new event unto itself, leaving both the Outlander characters and the actors playing them a little off-balance. “It was actually a little unsettling—suddenly, we’re thrust into this entirely new world,” says Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser.

Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser in the hit TV series, spoke of his lavish new lifestyle during an interview with Los Angeles magazine.
