Here is a new interview with Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe and Tobias Menzies from BuzzFeed
From BuzzFeed:
Fans of Outlander might say their favorite thing about the show are the clothes, the dialogue, perhaps the jaw-dropping scenery. But at the heart of Outlander are the relationships between the three leads Caitriona Balfe (as Claire Randall Fraser), Sam Heughan (as Jamie Fraser), and Tobias Menzies, who pulls double duty as dutiful husband Frank and horrible dude Black Jack Jonathan Randall.
Since Outlander has one of the best casts on television, we just had to play a little game of cast superlatives with the stars. Who’s the most like their character in real life? Who’s the funniest? Find out!
Brace yourselves because THIS weekend Outlander is returning for its second season.
Which means our favourite onscreen couple, Sam Heughan (aka Jamie Fraser) and Caitriona Balfe (aka Claire Randall/Fraser), will be on our screens once more.
So BuzzFeed decided to meet up with them and play a game to see how well they actually know each other. Here’s what went down.
What’s Caitriona’s biggest pet peeve?
Sam wrote, “Me eating all her food.” Caitriona wrote, “Waiting for Sam.”
Caitriona: [Laughs] Well, where do we start?
Sam: [Looks at Caitriona’s answer] Oh that’s true. Yeah, I forgot about that one. I got it wrong.
Caitriona: Or that too.
Sam: Yeah, it was a close second. [Hands her his sheet of paper] You can keep that. It’s a picture of you. Self-portrait.
While Outlander is primarily set in the Scottish hillsides, in real life, Menzies is English. So we figured that if anyone would know the meaning behind old English insults, it would be him.
The Game: We give Menzies a real and absolutely antiquated English insult, he gives us what he thinks is the definition, and we provide the real one.
Sheep-biter
“A sheep biter is, I mean, I know what you’re thinking: It might be a guy who bites sheep. But that’s wrong,” he said. “A sheep-biter is a person who, when he shears sheep, he’s not very good, he nicks the sheep with the shearing knives. So he’s a clumsy sheep shearer.”
