Sam Heughen Discusses a ‘Game of Thrones’/’Outlander’ Crossover! 2 comments

Sam recently mused with E! News about a Game of Thrones/Outlander crossover, noting that he believes Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin andOutlander author Diana Gabaldon have lunches.
“I believe [George and Diana] sit down regularly and have lunches…There could be like, this Outlander/Game of Thrones crossover. Maybe Diana could put some dragons somewhere into Outlander…Yeah, spinoff series!” Sam said.
“I love that show so much. It’s really good,” he added about Game of Thrones. “They’ve got an amazing ensemble. I’ve met some of the actors and I’m such a fanboy. I absolutely love it.”

Back in January at the TCA press tour, I sat down with “Outlander” showrunner Ronald D. Moore to discuss the impact of the POV swap, as well as the expanded role of Frank and how changes from the book have shaped the first season. [In the PaleyFest video above, Moore tells me a bit about Gabaldon’s involvement in the series.]
We also talked about the well-regarded “The Wedding” episode and why it was important to have that episode written and directed by women (Anna Foerster and Anne Kenney, respectively) and whether or not it has been difficult to keep Claire from becoming too steadily a damsel-in-distress.
