Here is a NEW Interview with Maril Davis from Entertainment Weekly
From EW:
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Jamie, Ian, and Claire are finally seeing Scottish shores again. Is it good to be home or does more trouble await them?
MARIL DAVIS: You know that saying “You can never go home again?” That’s definitely true. Home is never the home you knew. It’s never going to be the same. That’s true when we come back — there’s troubling things on the horizon and some painful stuff. It’s bittersweet. It’s a homecoming, but things happen that are more of a sad note.
Whatever is going to happen, we’re going to have to wait at least five months to find out. The remaining eight episodes in season seven are going to air in 2024 (yes, it’s a vague date; see what Davis had to say about it below), and based on what we know from Diana Gabaldon’s books, there’s a lot of story left to tell before the eighth and final season. Says Davis: “The second half…takes it up a notch. Buckle [your] seatbelt, because there’s so many ups and downs and everyone’s worst fears are kind of realized in the second half.”
Dear lord. And so, on that uplifting note, we grilled Davis on the mid-season finale’s biggest moments, which new characters will show up next, and how soon we can expect a resolution to Jem’s whereabouts. Read on.
The mid-season finale of Outlander wrapped with hope, heartbreak and a chilling encounter. Below, executive producer Maril Davis teases what to expect when the second half of Season 7 returns in 2024.
Claire and Jamie Fraser (Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan) reached Scotland with Young Ian (John Bell). Will the homecoming be as happy as Jamie is anticipating?
Maril Davis: No. You know what they say: You can never go home again. When we come back, we will see that things have changed and surprises await. It’s a very bittersweet time. Jamie and Claire are never safe. Trouble finds the Frasers, and the back half [of the season] is insane. Once again, their worst fears are realized. Something happens that could tear them apart. I don’t know if Jamie and Claire can recover from it.
Here is a NEW Interview with Diana Gabaldon from Parade Magazine For 7×08
From Parade :
“I thought [the season] was amazingly successful at taking an immense amount of material, distilling it into vivid strands and weaving them into a mostly coherent and very absorbing story,” New York Times bestselling author Diana Gabaldon tells Parade in this exclusive interview. “While it necessarily had to abbreviate and condense—and in some cases simplify or omit complex incidents and plotlines–they mostly refrained from making up extraneous things that weren’t in the books, while including an immense amount of the original dialogue and incidents. I really appreciated that.”
