From Digital Spy:
Digital Spy sat down for an exclusive chat with Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin, who play Bree and Roger, to talk about their 20th-century storyline and the new challenges they faced on set.
This season, Bree and Roger travel through the stones, back to the future (the early 1980s). What was it like filming those scenes?
Sophie Skelton: It was great, and it is such a cool time period to be in. It was like our own little world, it was like a different show. We said that a few times, didn’t we?
Richard Rankin: We didn’t come across anyone else. We were all on our own, we were shooting in a contemporary time.
SS: In the series, Roger and Brianna are doing renovations on the house [and are living in a trailer] so we would go from our trailers to that trailer. It did introduce its own difficulties because that trailer, it’s incredible as a set, the one Brianna, Roger and the kids are living in, but trying to shoot in there was hard because there’s not much space for crew or camera. It was great though, good to have another little challenge for everyone.
Was it hard filming at Midhope Castle (the location for Lallybroch) and keeping it a secret from passing fans?
RR: Well, they all get captured. They all get taken away to a little Outlander fan camp.
