Here is a NEW Interview with Sam Heughan From GQ UK
From GQ:
Sam Heughan sees his body as an extension of a character’s costume. The posture, the physique, the way they move. For him, it’s all part of being a good actor. If he feels like a powerful, ripped military man, he’s going to be able to act like one a lot more easily.
More after the jump!
This isn’t the only reason why the 41-year-old Scotsman has made a name for himself playing Outlander’s star Jamie Fraser for six seasons and counting with a jaw-dropping physique, or why he’s starred alongside the likes of Vin Diesel in other projects. The physical commitment of playing action characters and military men suits him well too.
Fitness is generally a focal point of Sam’s life, always has been. The endorphins it gives him go a long way. So much so that he hits the gym to get his body in shape for a role, and then goes for a run to decompress from a day’s filming. He hikes and runs marathons for fun. Heughan has also set up My Peak Challenge, “a global movement dedicated to educating and inspiring its members to live healthier, happier, and more balanced lives.”
With season 6 now on our screens, we speak to the actor and entrepreneur about how he’s managed to keep himself looking as good as he does alongside travelling extensively and sampling the odd dram of whisky.
