ABOSAA Read Along Update and Info – Discussion for the First Two Chapters Starts June 7th!   13 comments

“Time is a lot of the things people say that God is. There’s always preexisting, and having no end. There’s the notion of being all powerful-because nothing can stand against time, can it? Not mountains, not armies. And time is, of course, all-healing. Give anything enough time, and everything is taken care of: all pain encompassed, all hardship erased, all loss subsumed. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Remember, man, that thou art dust; and unto dust thou shalt return.
And if time is anything akin to God, I suppose that memory must be the devil.”
A Breath of Snow and Ashes –  Copyright 2006 Diana Gabaldon, quoted with permission of the author

Hi all!

Here are the details for our ABOSAA read along and how it will work. We’ll be reading 2-3 chapters a week starting next week, so you can already get started!

  • On June 7th, Paige and I will make a discussion post for chapters 1-2 of ABOSAA, as per most people’s request it will be a transcript;
  • Make sure you’ve read chapters 1 and 2 of ABOSAA by then;
  • Make sure to note your questions and thoughts so you can write them in the comments below on the site.

We’ll be discussing it with you guys in the comment. We can’t wait!

  1. Marie and Paige: AOSAA is one of my favorites out of all 8 of my favs. (lol) It has so much and the love between Jamie and Claire strengthens as the time continues. I’m looking forward to rereading (I’ve read all of the books 8 times, more for the 1st 3). Thanks for putting this together. Sherry

    • Hi Sherry!

      It’s been ages since I read ABOSAA, to this will be fun. The last time I read it was when it came out. Paige read it much more recently. For some reason I keep circling back to the first three books.

      • Hi!! I’ve read the 1st 3 books more than 8 times. I circled back to them for years. I think it’s time to do just that again!! Thanks for your response!!

        • Outlander is my favourite book. I love that book, so I always go back to that one. You don’t need to thank me for my response. That’s why we’re here, to discuss the books 🙂

  2. I recently reread it and love ABOSAA!

  3. I’d love to. Will there be a link or reminder somewhere?

  4. thank you looking forward

  5. Looking forward to the discussion….is there a certain time?

    • We’ll be posting our discussion on Sunday Morning, people can then join in and discuss in the comments, so pretty much an all week event until we get to the next chapters.
