NEW Interview with Sam Heughan from Men’s Journal   6 comments

Here is a NEW Interview with Sam Heughan from Men’s Journal

From Men’s Journal:

Long before he played a Highland warrior in the hit Starz series Outlander, whose series finale airs on December 10, Sam Heughan was chasing adventure in the hills of his native Scotland. Growing up surrounded by some of the world’s most beautiful wilderness meant an early obsession with the outdoors.

More after the jump!

“I was extremely lucky to grow up in such a lovely country,” said Heughan during a filming break between seasons. “Then to get to go back there and shoot our show has been an absolute dream come true. I am a country boy that has happened to become an actor, so I love getting to go for little trips off set as much as possible.”

So when Barbour was looking for a new collaborator for its latest collection, Heughan was a natural fit—given that he grew up just a stones throw from where the founder himself was raised. The actor was brought into the designing process to help tailor a line that fit not only his tastes but also the company’s age-old heritage. Men’s Journal chatted with the Scottish gentleman on advice for how to tour his home country, and if you’re in need of a proper ride for rolling landscapes you may want to look into the plans to giveaway a tricked out 1995 Land Rover Defender 90.

  1. Absolutely loved the interview. Sam Heughan is an excellent ambassador for Scotland. It indeed very beautiful. Sam Heughan is a very talented young man, actor, outdoorsman, ambassador for Bloodwise, ambassador for Barbour, a marathon runner, fitness enthusiast, and is making his own whiskey and has a beautiful smile as well. Scotland should be very proud that they have Sam Heughan. By the way, have you ever the bagpipes being played in the rolling hills there – it catches your breath – it is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing the interview with us all.

  2. Oops! I meant have you ever heard the bagpipes being played in the rolling hills around Edinburgh – absolutely beautiful.

  3. Series finale or season finale?

    • December 10th, Sunday, is the Finale for Season 3 (I loved every episode of Season 3). I am looking forward to the DVD/Blu Ray being on the market – I am going to miss seeing Jamie and Claire. Season 4 is now in the making, and it is said that it will come to TV in the fall of 2018.

  4. “I am a country boy that has happened to become an actor” = what a humble way to describe oneself, truly remarkable. Don’t ever change.
