I have been trying to figure out why season 3 has left me feeling empty so far. Not enjoying Jamie’s character for one. He seems so full of himself. Getting the greatest gift ever of his forever soulmate Claires return isn’t enough for him it seems.after their big reunion he leaves her all alone in a brothal with what seems no regard for her safety or welfare. I was almost ready for the story to be rewritten and have Claire return to her time and daughter. His attitude seems to be that she fall in line, behind Madame Jeannea who seems much too families with him touching and those little looks between them not to mention her ease of just walking into his room. I think she has deffinatly been his go to girl. Jamie use to have a kind of reverence for Claire that gave the fans such a strong connection. Ever since Paris his feelings and respect for Clair seems to have d faded. All the time he spent with the whores in Paris, which no woman would or should be expected to accept and again this season. I find myself shouting “Go back to Bree”! He should be smothering Clair in affection every time they are together. The new characters, as charming as they are, still leave me wanting a Murtaugh or Dougal in the sceme of things. Just not feeling the draw to Jamie as the last two seasons. Maybe he needs some compitition for Clairs love to humble him. When he asks Claire if she is returning, after her visit to the Campbells, he should have embraced her and given her a kiss to remember what to come back to.I find myself wanting Claire to slap some sense into him. Knowing what a strong women she is doesn’t mean she never bares her soul. Ep 8 will be interesting. Not looking forward to seeing Claire bullied and belittled by her bitch of a sister in law not to mention having “HE’S MINE” thrown at her arch enemy the horrible Leohrie. I hope Jamie gets his heart shattered and his ass kicked by both wives. I guess Sunday night will tell all. I continue to reread the books to try and get the gruve back again and rewatch season 1.
I’ve read the book Voyager, so am not too worried about the show being a little different. In the book Jamie is a lot more passionate with Claire. As for Jenny, no she wasn’t thrilled when Claire reappeared, so Claire actually cornered her into explaining things. I still love the show.
