AUSSIE actor David Berry had to get one person’s approval before accepting a big starring role on the sexiest show on television … his mother-in-law.

On Monday night, the A Place To Call Home actor will make his debut on global hit Outlander, which airs on Foxtel’s Showcase.
However when he was auditioning for the coveted role, which films in Scotland, his wife Kristinawas edging towards the end of her pregnancy with the couple’s first child.
“I was going to say no … but what really sealed it for me to make the decision is my mother-in-law,” Berry told Confidential.
“She was like ‘just do it’ and (I think) that’s because she’s a huge super fan of Outlander. But that blessing made it more comfortable for both of us to think I could go.”
Kind of disappointed that they neglected to mention the name of the character that John is playing in the series. Could it have been a problem to say, Major John William Grey or Lord John Grey? Wonder if they even bothered asking? Good luck, David!
