Oh dear, this man is far too old to be Harry Quarry. I don’t understand the need to change this character 😠
That’s interesting, Julie. From my image of Harry from the books, I thought this gentleman was spot on to represent the character. Funny how interpretations can differ one person to the next.
I agree with you Jill, this gentleman is spot on. Getting closer to the Print Shop scene too, can’t wait!! Um, yes I can, don’t want this season to be over too quickly.
Lord John Grey – Wow! He will have a lot of influence in Jamie’s and Claire’s life yet. Jamie has the upper hand over John Grey in a quiet powerful way. Greatly enjoying all the episodes as we go along – so exciting. Print Shop episode coming up but still more exciting episodes before that coming along. . Don’t you just love it!
In response to the ladies above, Harry Quarry was mentioned in Voyager as being 15 years older than John which would make him 40 (not 65+) and in one of the Lord John books (can’t recall which) his birth date is given and he’s only 6 or 8 years older than John which would make him, at the handover of Ardsmuir, in his early 30s. Yes he reads older and a bit eccentric but he is a close friend and contemporary of Hal (and therefore a friend of John). This man is old enough to be a friend of their grandfather!
Just to add to my above comment, I have now looked up the details; Harry Quarry’s date of birth is given as 24th April 1723 which makes him 6 years older than John. The handover of Ardsmuir Governorship took place on 15th Feb 1755 so Harry would have been 31 years old and John would be 25 (DOB 14.06.1729).
