From Parade:

Outlander wraps up its epic second season on Saturday night with a 90-minute finale that finishes up the second book in the series,Dragonfly in Amber, which is also the name of the episode.

More after the jump!

“In the finale, you will have to tune in to find out, but we really are coming down to zero hour,” Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser, said in an earlier interview. It is all about this point in time, which is the Battle of Culloden, and whether we can stop it or not. That is what is going to happen.”

In the episode, we flash forward to 1968, where Claire (Caitriona Balfe)revisits the past and reveals to her daughter, Brianna (Sophie Skelton), the truth about her parentage.

  1. OMG! The last episode is amazing and so well done by writers. No tears shed for Dougal but non stop waterworks thru everything else. A good place, as in book, to end on since so many new characters will be older and new ones introduced in keeping with the next book.the break between seasons will alow us the time to grive for the ones lost this season. I will continue to reread each book and rewatch all episodes on Starz app so not to forget anyone and relive the story until season 3. Too bad there can’t be a movie length episode half way thru waiting , maybe about all the digging and research the 3 do before the glorious reunion of Claire and Jamie. The grey streaks in Clairs hair will take some getting use to. I always picture her in her wedding day. In the beautiful dress and in Young Jamie’s arms. Hope the older Jamie will be beliveable. The young one is so perfect to book description.

  2. I’ve just read Voyager again and it’s soooo fantastic to put a face to these 2 characters while reading, you can actually picture them speaking, especially when Jamie says something funny. Can’t wait for season 3!
