  1. Jamie’s hope and the things he points out to Claire that have already changed gives one hope, however small, that maybe there’s still a chance. Claire knows it’s hopeless but, she won’t give up if there’s even a small chance. That scene to me shows that at this point Jamie is still idealistic.
