From Three If By Space (Part 1):
Earlier this week, I had a lot of fun talking with Outlander’s Executive Producer Maril Davis. In Part 1, Maril discusses her background, her feelings about sci fi, and why we haven’t heard about Season 3 yet!
ERIN: You’re one of the most unknown people in all of Outlander. You don’t do that many interviews, we don’t know that much about you. I thought we could talk about what you do, how you started. (Note: OutlanderCast Blog did a great podcast with Maril earlier this year, in which she discussed a lot of her early career. You can listen to that podcast here.) I thought it was fascinating that you were attempting to be a pro soccer player. Have you always been athletic?

Last night, I was sitting at a high school district track meet watching the granddaughters strive to make the finals (they made it in 4 events whoo hoo!) and a chance to advance to the regionals. It was spitting rain and bit cold and the events they participated in were spread out over the night. I had some time to drink coffee and check in on what was happening in Outlanderland. Right before the hurdles, I was reading an article about how Diana Gabaldon was credited with saying there was a decision/scene in an upcoming episode of Outlander that “jumped the shark” (how is that for irony). Not entirely sure what “jumped the shark” meant, I looked it up on Wikipedia.

Here is a new clip and short interview with Caitriona Balfe from Vulture

Click on the screencap or click here to watch
From Vulture:
“Claire feels she’s equal to anyone,” actress Caitriona Balfe told Vulture. “She doesn’t accept the fact that there is hierarchy. I love that about her. Even with the king, yes, she’s aware that she has to maneuver within certain parameters, but at the same point, she feels very justified. It’s an amazing scene when she goes and asks for Jamie’s freedom.”
It’s a loaded conversation, full of subtext, and takes place in the king’s bedroom. “Now, tell me what is it I may do for you?” the king asks, as if he would be of service.
“She realizes there’s a price to pay,” Balfe said. “But she’s willing to do it. Just for her to get Jamie back, that’s worth anything.”

Here is a new interview with Ron D. Moore interview with Variety

From Variety:
A candle sputters. A curtain sways. A woman arches her back, her limbs bathed in a golden light. The angles, the body parts, the visuals are all familiar.
