New Outlander Cast Interview with IGN 3 comments

Season 2 marks a big shift in setting for the show, as it moves with Claire and Jamie from Scotland to high French society. The Parisian backdrop is stunning and costumes are glorious; the Paris scenes were shot in Prague, southern England and on location and sets in Scotland. But despite the glamor, showrunner Ron Moore explained that — like with Season 1 — the intent was to play the new world as true to the time.
“We just decided we were going to treat French society much like we did Scottish society,” he said. “It’s an over-the-top world as it is anyway; you didn’t have to embellish it. You didn’t have to make it a silly world. They didn’t have to be foppish, French aristocrats; they just had to be aristocrats. If you’re going to go to a brothel in Paris, you don’t have to have women walking around with their tops off to sell that it’s a brothel. It’s enough that it’s a brothel.”

New Sam Heughan Interview with Toronto 24 Hours 4 comments
From Toronto 24 Hours
As Season 2 of Outlander begins, Jamie and his wife Claire are in Paris, but they aren’t there to relax, sip wine, munch on baguettes and see the sights.
“Obviously we go to Paris on this mission, and we’re there for a reason,” said Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie.
“But Jamie’s definitely still affected by the trauma (of what occurred in Season 1).
“I think time is a great healer, but ultimately, he puts his whole body and soul into this mission about changing history. And then there is a great revelation that kind of cures him, or brings him out of himself.
“I can’t really tell you what that is. But it certainly brings back the old Jamie.”

New Interview of Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan with People’s Choice 3 comments
From People’s Choice
While season two promises to be packed with drama, Heughan told us at the premiere that some of the more serious scenes were a challenge to shoot — something he blames entirely on his “difficult” costar.
“Most recently we were shooting like one of the last episodes and it was a very serious moment, and Duncan Lacroix would come in with some information and couldn’t get his line right, and the camera’s on me, and Caitriona just every time was just corpsing and laughing the whole time,” said Heughan. “And she doesn’t help me at all. She just stands there openly laughing in my face and it’s difficult to work with her, so I’m gonna get her sacked.”

How Is the Fraser Marriage Doing?
Before Jamie was captured by the Redcoats and subsequently turned into Black Jack’s sex-and-torture plaything, he and Claire lit up the screen with their steamy hookups. There wasn’t any time at the end of last season for them to rebuild their unwittingly damaged relationship (escaping the country took precedence), so season 2 will explore the Frasers’ road back to intimacy. “They feel like France might be a new beginning for them,” says Balfe of Claire and Jamie’s marital future. “The pregnancy and the belief that new life, new place [equals] new beginning. And, unfortunately, quickly, that’s not exactly what happens.”
