Who in the world is Melissa Benoist? Sam would do better to stick with UK and European productions since US movie companies, with rare exception, produce ridiculous, sappy romances, heroic war carnage dramas, drug-culture crime dramas or over-the-top violence against social structures. . .White House Down, Bad Teacher, Platoon, The Hurt Locker, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Bridesmaids, Wedding Crashers, etc. You have to have a car chase, a fiery car crash, exploding boats or buildings, guns, lots of guns and blood, excessive foul language, and a macho man and full-busted, perfect 20 year old woman to have a typical American movie.. .really frustrating.
Ummm…I believe that Outlander is considered a U.S. production…
A US-UK production. . .unless you discount actors, locations, technicians, and the source material which is grounded in UK history. I’m sorry if I’ve offended you, but I find foreign movies much more interesting. I think Sam is a fine actor, just as I was impressed with Gerard Butler and Kevin McKidd, but then they were swallowed up by some dumb Hollywood movies that didn’t really advance their talents, in my humble opinion.
No offense taken; not that important. Just pointing out that Tall Ships is a US production company based out of LA who happens to take their Outlander production to the UK and outsource their production staff from UK when filming on site.
No doubt that Tall Ships helps the local economy in UK, though. Nothing wrong with that.
Melissa Benoist was a former Glee cast member and also stars in the new series, Supergirl. The movie she and Sam Heughan will be starring together in is about a romance about a couple dealing with a terminal cancer diagnosis…
