I am always so proud when Outlander gets its well-deserved kudos but why on earth would Sam H be put in the Supporting Actor category and not Tobias Menzes? They should have flipped those nominations! Cait and Sam are the leads and Tobias is the support, SMH.
The nominations were made back in March, so the second half of the season hadn’t been shown yet. I can see the argument for Tobias being feature more than Sam in the first half.
Perhaps, but in the first half of the season, Sam was featured more than Tobias. Even if they were basing these nominations solely on the pilot episode, they should both be listed as Supporting or Best Actor as they were onscreen the same amount of time. Plus, Sam is listed second after Caitriona in the opening credits with Tobias third. Unless these awards work as the Emmys do, where the actor/actress is submitted in a certain category, someone got these categories backwards.

Sam supporting actor and Tobias main actor? People who does this doesn’t watch the show I guess. I love both actors’ work, they are amazing, and so is Caitriona but I think they should put the categories in their right place
Why Sam as supporting actor? If he is the main character and the center of the story?
What is with Sam as a supporting actor???????? Who are these award people anyway do they even know anything about the show?

I agree with all the above. When reading the noms, I was totally puzzled and still am that lead actor
Sam Heughan was in the supporting category and Tobias Menzies in the lead. Excellent work
by both for sure, with Tobias playing two roles but c’mon…Sam and Caitriona are the lead roles and
each deserve to be acknowledged as such. An insult to Sam methinks.
Hope they get the Emmy nominations straight !!

Best of luck to Sam, Caitriona and Tobias; even though the people at Saturn awards mixed up Sam and Tobias. Loved the books…now totally Love this show and thefabulous actors!
Tobias is such a great actor. I’m thrilled for him. Aren’t they looking at their performance and who’s acting was the best? I believe that Tobias was exceptional in Black Jack and he deserves recognition. I don’t think that it matters who appeared the most in the season as who was the most talented in their opinion. I’m happy for Tobias. Mind you … I’m not saying that Sam isn’t talented but Tobias’ performance was, in my view, exceptional.
