Here’s a new interview of Sam Heughan about ‘My Peak Challenge’

More after the jump

The Borders-born actor teamed up with Fight Camp Glasgow’s John Valbonesi and Bear Strength Clothing to create the campaign, which raised money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

While raising money for Sam’s chosen charity, the campaign aimed to encourage individuals from all walks of life to reach peak fitness, achieve personal goals and feel great.

Sam completed his personal My Peak Challenge last month by running the Los Angeles Marathon in a brilliant 3 hours 36 minutes in over 30 degree heat.

Sam admits he’s been humbled by the support shown by loyal fans and the amount of money raised.

He said: “My Peak Challenge really exceeded our expectations.Together with Bear Strength, Fight Camp and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, we wanted to create an event that anyone could participate in.

“Inspired by the stories of those affected by blood cancer, we wanted to honour them in our challenges. The support and enthusiasm was overwhelming. So many heart warming stories of individual’s enthusiasm and determination to conquer their chosen ‘Peaks’.

“We could never have guessed how successful it’d be. Currently we are assessing the total raised for the charity and it’s tens of thousands, thank you for these extraordinary fundraising efforts! Just as importantly, Peak Challenge has become a team, a community, supporting each other.

“Promoting health and fitness, plus my affection for the outdoors, we hope that the My Peak Challenge legacy will be better health and well being for those involved. I hope we can make it a yearly challenge, growing bigger and more rewarding for everyone involved.

“A HUGE thank you to everyone who reached their Peak with us!”
