“I’ve always played the part knowing that she is,” Verbeek confirms. “Geillis studied Claire’s case, in fact, in the 1960s, so she knows what she’s doing. She also knows there have been a few cases of time traveling preceding her, so when she meets Claire, she’s pretty certain it’s her.”That shocks even Verbeek’s co-star Graham McTavish, who plays her love interest Dougal MacKenzie. It really does redefine Geillis’ entire relationship with Claire knowing that she always knew the Brit’s secret. What it means for the future — and whether these two women will ever meet again — are mysteries that will need to be revealed in episodes yet to come.
