Is the honeymoon over?

In a new exclusive clip from the midseason premiere of Starz’sOutlander (airing April 4 at 9 p.m.), we witness the tumultuous aftermath of Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) rescue from the clutches of dastardly Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). Which is to say, Jamie (Sam Heughan) isn’t quite feeling the love for his new bride at the moment. Here too—and perhaps more so than ever before—we see Claire’s growing frustrations over being a modern-day woman (a modern-day woman of the 1940s, that is) wrangling with the customs and mores of the 18th-century.

Without getting too spoilery, readers of Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling book series, upon which the series is based, know that this moment is merely foreplay for a much more “hands-on” tumult to come.

    • Those are my exact words too! Cait deserves recognition just on that scene alone. On a side note, I think a Canadian promo snippet shows Claire slapping Jamie’s face as well. Wow, the tv version really adds more to how I remember the book.
