Sam Heughan

Sam is a Scottish actor, star of star of hit period drama ‘Outlander’ and a huge Hollywood hit. He’s been fundraising to beat blood cancer since 2011 when he joined our TV Times running team. Sam has run many half and full marathons for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and he also completed his first triathlon in 2013 at Blenheim Palace. Sam’s recently organised the My Peak Challenge, to encourage anyone to tackle their own personal goal – and help beat blood cancer at the same time.

Sam says: “We have to battle cancer. Many of my close family and friends have fought their own cancer battle. We need to support their cause in any way we can. Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research are doing this through research, patient information and clinical trials. They are a caring, diligent charity which I am proud to be part of: let’s beat blood cancer.”

  1. Reblogged this on Ana Fraser Lallybroch Blog.

  2. Thanks Sam, I am a lymphoma survivor and really appreciate all you have done ❤️👍

  3. Sam, you are a real life HERO! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

  4. I ran a marathon once to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society when a close friend was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was pretty proud of myself for finishing. This body only has one marathon though, but if anyone ever wants to try it, and raise money for this great cause, it is worth the effort!!

  5. Thanks for your fundraising leadership in this worthy research. My son donated bone marrow to help save the life of a 6-year-old with bone cancer. I’m so proud of young men like him and you who have a heart to help those in need!

  6. Pinned onto Outlander the Series.

  7. you are championing a great cause. There are too many who have been touched by cancer in some way. Thank you for your efforts.
