Sam Heughan
Sam is a Scottish actor, star of star of hit period drama ‘Outlander’ and a huge Hollywood hit. He’s been fundraising to beat blood cancer since 2011 when he joined our TV Times running team. Sam has run many half and full marathons for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, and he also completed his first triathlon in 2013 at Blenheim Palace. Sam’s recently organised the My Peak Challenge, to encourage anyone to tackle their own personal goal – and help beat blood cancer at the same time.
Sam says: “We have to battle cancer. Many of my close family and friends have fought their own cancer battle. We need to support their cause in any way we can. Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research are doing this through research, patient information and clinical trials. They are a caring, diligent charity which I am proud to be part of: let’s beat blood cancer.”
